Perfection: Garage / Guest House

I love this structure except for the garage doors as I would be using it as a home. I must save this photo as a favorite architectural design. Do you love it too? I hope you are as warm and cozy today as this dwelling looks. I am always partial to all the lights being on at twilight, especially if there is snow on the ground. xo via Instagram

Gosh, an awful lot of beauty was wasted on a garage. Ha-ha-ha

Do you think it's guest room accommodations above the garage? Loved , love , love the cupola....and the dormer windows....and the lovely lanterns. As I said, an awful lot of beauty wasted on the garage.

Jeez Louise, if that's the garage, can you imagine the HOUSE!

It would be perfect to live in while building the "real" house. And what wonderful guest quarters it would make in the future.

There's a single, middle-aged gal who lives off the highway a few miles from us. Whenever I drive by at night, I look through the trees in the large front yard and notice her house which is always lit up like the proverbial Christmas tree. Such a lovely, cozy look!

I assume the ground floor used to house three cars and the upstairs had an apartment. Assuming it was converted into a living space only...I can't imagine why they would keep those garage doors. Pretty vulnerable too.

This would look much better if the garage doors would be the same color as the house. Now they are a distraction. Not sure why people want to call attention to garage doors instead of having them blend away. Other than that, it is a cozy picture.

Well, I hope this is the back of the house and the chauffeur and his gorgeous daughter, like in Sabrina, live in an apartment above the garage.

I agree about lights at twilight and snowy winter evenings.
